Iran Iron Ore Production Up by 18% Y-o-Y in First 8 Months

As per the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s (IMIDRO) latest report, Iran produced around 25 MnT iron ore concentrate in first 8 months of current Persian year (21 Mar-21 Nov’17). Production was up by 18% Y-o-Y against around 21 MnT produced in same period last year.

Major producers of iron ore during the period was Gologhar Mining and Industrial Complex (9.19 MnT), Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Complex (5.60 MnT), Iran Central Iron Ore Company (3.28 MnT), Goharzamin Iron Ore Company (2.66 MnT) and Middle East Mines and Mining Industries (2.49 MnT).

Iran Pellet Production Up by 26% Y-o-Y

Iran produced around 20.8 MnT of pellet in first 8 months of current Persian year, registered a growth of 26% Y-o-Y. Major pellet producers during the period was Gologhar Mining and Industrial Complex (7.17 MnT), Mobarakeh Steel Company (5 MnT) and Khouzastan Steel Company (4.29 MnT).

Iran DRI Production up by 14% Y-o-Y

As per IMIDRO, Iran produced around 12.65 MnT of DRI in first 8 months of current Persian year, registered a growth of 14% Y-o-Y. Major producers of DRI during the period was Mobarakeh Steel Company (4.95 MnT), Khouzestan Steel Company (2.76 MnT) and Hormozgan Steel Company (1.03 MnT)

Granulated Iron production down by 2% Y-o-Y

Iran produced around 4 MnT of granulated iron in first 8 months of current Persian year, registered a downfall of 2% Y-o-Y. Major producers during the period was Sangan Iron Ore Complex (1.23 MnT), Iran Central Iron Ore Company (1.05 MnT), Iran Central Plateau Iron Ore Company (0.62 MnT) and Jalal Abad Iron Ore Company (0.61 MnT).
